Note to all of your parents out there. Get life insurance now. But not just for yourself. Child life insurance is important for your baby as well. Your child deserves life insurance regardless of how healthy or fit he or she may be. It's terrible to think about it, but tragedy may strike at any time. If such a disaster should befall your family, the last thing you want to worry about is money.

Where Can I Find Baby Insurance?
If you're reading this column, then you're already on the Internet. That's step one. Step two is: use a search engine to find the following keywords ("baby insurance", "infant life insurance" or "life insurance for baby"). You will find companies falling over themselves to earn your trust and business.
Because insurance is always a buyer's market, take your time and read through the various policies that each company offers. There are usually rules and regulations that help determine what type of baby insurance you child can receive. For example, some policies are more expensive if one of the parents is a smoker.
One added bonus of shopping for infant life insurance is that you'll discover ways that you can make your house a little safer (like you can stop smoking).
I Have An Older Child. Should I Still Get Life Insurance?
Yes. Even if you have an older child, life insurance is still important. Fortunately, most companies that offer infant life insurance will also have policies even if your child is no longer a baby - usually called juvenile life insurance.
Life insurance policies differ, so you'll need to find out the exact age cut-off. Once your child reaches a certain limit, you'll have to transfer the policy as needed. But this extra paperwork is definitely worth the security and peace of mind.
